Exceptional Education at the Heart of the Community

The Role of Parents / Carers

We believe that all parents/carers have an important role to play in the education of their child. Therefore we try our best to ensure that parents/carers are made to feel welcome and valued in their dealings with all members of staff. We recognise the role that you have played in shaping the development of your child, and the value in your partnership with the education going forward. We do this through:

  • Offering parents regular opportunities to talk about their child’s progress with their subject teachers
  • Encouraging parents to talk to teachers if there are any concerns. If needed a meeting will be set up between the staff and parent/carer so that any issues can be resolved quickly
  • Providing details of your child's curriculum and subject content throughout their time with us
  • Organising special evenings where parents and carers can learn about how to support their child through examinations

Safeguarding & Parental Controls

We take safeguarding seriously, and want to be able to provide support not just for our young people but for their families too. You are always more than welcome to come into the academy to discuss any concerns or worries you may have. We are also happy to provide links to support agencies or charities who can offer free and impartial advice confidentially on a range of issues. Please explore some of our recommended organisations below.

Oasis Encounter

This is a fantastic therapeutic programme lasting 10 weeks and is especially of benefit to parents who are struggling to maintain boundaries and high parental presence in the home. The sessions run on the Zoom platform which can be accessed through any smart phone/tablet or laptop.
