Vision and values
Exceptional Education at the Heart of the Community
By this we mean:
Every Oasis student belongs, is able to explore their purpose and is equipped with the knowledge, skills and experiences to have real choice and opportunity to flourish in their lives.
To bring our mission to life, we’re focused on three strategic outcomes to be achieved by 2030.
These three strategic pillars bring our mission to life and will shape our work until 2030.
Outcome 1: Exceptional Education

Every child deserves an education that secures the highest outcomes, academically and in all aspects of their development.
An exceptional education unlocks opportunity, but just as importantly, it helps young people find their purpose: who they are and who they are becoming.
We are committed to a truly inclusive, purposeful and relational education that achieves great outcomes and enhances young people’s lives. To deliver this, we’re focused on:
Exceptional teaching and learning
We will define what high-quality teaching looks like and support staff to deliver a rigorous curriculum.
This will be achieved by:
• A teaching and learning approach which sets aclear vision of great teaching, supporting staff to plan effectively, adapt to pupil needs, and teach responsively.
• Embedding Curriculum 2.0, which creates space for local relevance within an engaging, values driven curriculum.
True inclusion and care
We will create the conditions for every student to feel they belong and to engage in their learning.
This will be achieved by:
• The Oasis Way, a framework of inclusive practice which builds a relational, restorative culture with high expectations and personalised support.
• Expanding our Encounter Programme to expand mental health support and wellbeing in communities.
System and cultural alignment
We will ensure leaders at every level have the authority and support they need to lead meaningful
transformation.
This will be achieved by:
• A renewed regional approach that places decision making in the hands of those closest to pupils.
• A quadrant school improvement model that delivers high challenge and high support.
Our work between 2025–2030 will help achieve the following outcomes, among others:
• Performance outcomes that meet or exceed national averages.
• A curriculum that leaves space for local context and engages students deeply in their learning.
• All children experience true inclusion through a model of care that celebrates difference.
• School improvement is driven by the strategic alignment of leadership, professional learning, and classroom practice.
Spotlight on:
The Oasis Teaching and Learning Approach
Our teaching and learning approach sets out a shared vision of great teaching across Oasis, while allowing schools the flexibility to adapt to their context.
Structured around four core elements —relational climate, planning and preparation, teaching, and assessment — it builds a consistent understanding of effective practice that drives deeper learning.
As a framework it supports staff to plan purposefully, so they can make the right decisions at the right moments, with a deep understanding of their pupils’ needs.
Outcome 2: Remarkable People

Every child must be inspired and supported by people who love and are excellent at what they do, who bring expertise, fresh ideas, and joy to their work.
Investing in our people holistically improves outcomes, because when our adults thrive, they unlock the potential of our children and communities.
We are committed to attracting, developing, and retaining mission-driven people, who are always learning, in a joyful environment.
To deliver this, we’re focused on:
Sector-leading professional development
We will invest in a world-class teacher and leadership development programme to shape excellence and empower staff to deliver it confidently.
This will be achieved by:
- A major new development offer to develop staff as leaders of learning, with the skills and confidence to shape exceptional practice.
- A national network of communities of practice to share expertise and drive collaboration.
Culture: A remarkable offer
We will shape a culture people want to be part of, which values contribution, prioritises wellbeing, and creates the conditions for people to thrive.
This will be achieved by:
- Building a workplace fit for the future, where flexibility, wellbeing, and a strong benefits offer attract and retain the very best people.
- Listening and acting on what staff tell us matters, through an expansive programme of surveys and feedback tools.
Progression and potential
We will define and open up clear, supported pathways for growth in order to build meaningful careers.
This will be achieved by:
- A structured talent pipeline that identifies and nurtures high-potential staff.
- Development routes that support every stage of a career role from early years in the profession to senior leadership.

The Oasis Institute
As a founding partner of the National Institute of Teaching, we are already at the forefront of shaping professional development nationally.
Building on this, we will launch the Oasis Institute, a centre of excellence for professional development and leadership, from apprenticeships through to executive leadership.
The Oasis 9 Habits will underpin role development at every career stage helping to create a shared way of working that strengthens our culture and supports our mission.
Our work between 2025–2030 will help achieve the following outcomes, among others:
- Higher staff engagement, improved wellbeing, and reduced turnover.
- A culture of recognition and appreciation where every person is valued, and our ethos is lived out in daily interactions.
- Greater ability to attract exceptional people into education and into Oasis.
- Expanded influence in national policy through our work with the National Institute of Teaching and other external partnerships.
Outcome 3: Stronger Communities

Every child deserves to grow up in a flourishing community, that connects education, wellbeing and opportunity.
There is a symbiotic partnership between education and community: our schools strengthen the communities they serve, just as our communities enrich and sustain our schools.
We are committed to integrated community and youth work that enhances students’ lives both in and beyond the classroom.
To deliver this, we’re focused on:
Leadership rooted in place
We will embed integrated neighbourhood leadership in every Oasis community to respond to local needs.
This will be achieved by:
- Locally owned plans in every Oasis community to strengthen relationships and expand local voice.
- Every Oasis neighbourhood will have a Community Leader to deliver the full Oasis model, integrating education, youth, and family support.
People, power and belonging
We will grow leadership and opportunity from within our communities to build a movement rooted in belonging.
This will be achieved by:
- Developing a systematic approach to parental engagement that builds trust, strengthens early years, and deepens our partnership with families.
- Expanding youth leadership, alumni and volunteer pathways to grow the next generation of Oasis leaders from within our schools and communities.
Integrated opportunities
We will create joined-up support for children and families that extends beyond the classroom and builds strong local partnerships.
This will be achieved by:
- Embedding collaborative community teams around schools, from youth and mental health support to attendance and careers, to improve outcomes.
- Renewing local partnerships through Hub Councils to connect young people with greater opportunities and local networks.
Our work between 2025–2030 will help achieve the following outcomes, among others:
- Increased early access to local, stigma-free support for students and families.
- Stronger, more consistent parental engagement to support families’ role in school life.
- Increased numbers of young people and local residents volunteering and progressing into roles in Oasis.
- More powerful community voice and renewed local partnerships through Hub Councils.
