Family Group and House System

Family Group's

As we grow at Leesbrook, each year group will eventually have 10 Family Groups. Our family groups are named after the subjects we teach at Leesbrook.

We want our halls and corridors to feel like a home-from-home for your children. Our Academy is a family - thriving with healthy relationships and positive influences. Our class teachers and Family Leaders (form tutors) take the time to get to know each of their students, finding out what your child is interested in, where their aspirations lie and what hopes they have for their year.  This sustained effort to build relationships allows our students and teachers to have an excellent rapport and positive regard for each other.

House Groups

Every family group is assigned to a house. The houses are linked to our Oasis 9 Habits that form part of Our ethos values. They are lived out every day in who we are, and how we behave towards each other. In our houses we will we encourage each other to keep on becoming the best version of ourselves.

Within your 9 habit house you will be joined by other family groups from the academy, working together representing your house.

Through the House system, students participate in a wide variety of House activities, ranging from events and competitions in lessons and cultural enrichment.  They are able to earn points for themselves and their House.  Points are counted each half term and the winning House trophy is awarded to the house. The league table will run from September to July.

Every year the house competitions and points will cumulate in the Leesbrook Sports Day where an overall Leesbrook champion will be announced.

By having a growing house system in place, we encourage our young people to get to know each other across all year groups. We have a dedicated and inspirational student lead leadership team consisting of out Student Principals, Student Deputy Principals and Student Council for those who want that extra support from their peers. Our communal dining area allows for that all important social integration - especially during family dining.
