Student Leadership

We feel it is important for our young people to feel empowered and have a say in how they feel aspects of the Academy should be run. Therefore, we offer are a wide range of opportunities for students to take on leadership roles.
These include:

  • Being part of the Student Council
  • Becoming Student Principals for the year

At Oasis Academy Leesbrook we understand that having that chance to feel heard by your peers and by our staff, being able to take part in special school activities and that finding your voice among the crowd is life changing for some. Therefore we give all of our pupils the chance to be a part of the student leadership team, and to be involved in all events across the year.

Leesbrook Leaders

At Leesbrook we have a special group of students called the Leesbrook Leaders. They work as ambassadors for the school, advise the Principal on improvements that need to be made or any concerns the students may have and act as role models and support systems for the new Year 7 intake.

Our Leesbrook Leaders are hardworking role models who are good at helping other people, kind, caring committed to making sure the school is excellent for all and enjoy working as part of a team.

Leesbrook Interpreters

Our Leesbrook Interpreter Programme is just one of the ways we embrace our linguistic talent. Students are selected to be Interpreters after a formal application where they show us their translation and interpreting skills. Our Interpreters help students who are new to the English language settle at Leesbrook, they lead our language of the month programme, and support us at parents’ evenings. They are student leaders who promote our multi-culturalism in all that they do!  Find out more here.
