Leesbrook Leadership Days
Intent
At Oasis Academy Leesbrook, we believe in nurturing well-rounded individuals who are prepared for both academic challenges and personal growth. Our Leadership Days provide our students with unique opportunities to step outside of the classroom and engage in enriching activities that enhance their learning experience.
These special days are designed to broaden students’ horizons, foster leadership skills, and ignite their curiosity about the world around them. Throughout the academic year, each year group spends a full day participating in experiences that go beyond the standard curriculum.
Implementation
Our Leadership Days are implemented by creating unique and appropriate experiences for each year group. These days are designed to align with the Personal, social and academic development for our students, allowing them to grow beyond the traditional curriculum.
-
Year 7: Students kick off their Leadership Days with a visit to the theatre, where they experience live performances, learn about the arts, and gain inspiration from the world of drama and storytelling.
-
Year 8: A visit to the Museum of Science and Industry offers Year 8 students an exciting opportunity to explore science, technology, and industrial history. This experience helps develop their curiosity and critical thinking skills.
-
Year 9: Our Year 9 students have explored higher education through university visits, where they learn about the world of academia, campus life, and future study options. These visits spark aspirations and help them plan for their educational journey ahead.
-
Year 10: Year 10 students participate in a powerful “Prison Me No Way” day. This program brings important conversations about crime prevention, choices, and consequences, helping students reflect on their actions and understand the realities of life in the criminal justice system.
