Technology covers a wide breadth of different topics, techniques and skills. At Oasis Academy Leesbrook we are committed to helping our students learn and develop these whilst giving them a well rounded Design curriculum. During Technology lessons students will be taught a carousel of Product Design, Food and Textiles. We believe it is vitally important for students to receive a balanced education, especially in regards to their Technology and Design lessons.
During the first term of Key Stage 3, students will be learning all about the Iterative Design Process and the basic principles of design. They will be studying the work of Robert Sabuda and applying this knowledge when they are taught how to research, analyse, design and create like a professional designer.
Students will also be learning about the value of nutrition in order to live a healthy and balanced lifestyle. We will be examining and making a number of different healthy dishes as well as learning about food hygiene and knife skills.
During their Textiles lessons, students will be studying the work of Jon Burgerman and be creating small fabric "monsters". This will involve learning a variety of stitching and fabric application techniques.
