We are incredibly proud to announce that Oasis Academy Leesbrook has been awarded the SEND Inclusion Award by Optimus Education, recognising our strong commitment to inclusive practice and the positive outcomes achieved for our pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
The award highlights the academy’s dedication to ensuring that every student is supported to thrive, with inspectors noting that “inclusion is embedded across school life, with strong systems for identifying need, planning provision, reviewing impact and involving learners and families.”
During the review, inspectors explored a wide range of our inclusive practices, including our graduated response, provision mapping, pupil passports and targeted interventions. A visit to our specialist spaces, including the Hive Provision and Bridge classroom, further demonstrated how inclusion is not an add-on, but a core part of everyday life at Oasis Academy Leesbrook.
Inspectors also spoke with students, staff and families, who shared the positive impact of strong relationships and consistent support across the academy. Our team of dedicated teaching assistants and learning support assistants, alongside the leadership of our Strategic SENCO, Mrs Rebecca O’Neill, were recognised for the difference they make to students’ experiences and outcomes.

Mrs Andrea Mitchell, Principal of Oasis Academy Leesbrook, said:
“This award symbolises our relentless commitment to inclusion. Our ethos and values are rooted in delivering the very best educational experience for all our students. Inclusion is the golden thread running through everything we do here at the academy, and as Principal, I am incredibly proud to lead a school that is truly committed to unlocking the potential of each and every student in our care.”
This achievement reflects our ongoing commitment, in line with the Oasis vision, to create a truly inclusive environment where every young person feels valued, supported and empowered to reach their full potential.
We would like to thank our staff, students and families for their continued support in making Oasis Academy Leesbrook such a welcoming and inclusive community.
